Nokia N9 Makes Its Video Debut Thanks To Early Leak
Despite lacking in terms of hard hitting smart phone releases, Nokia has managed to maintain the largest majority of worldwide market share beating out Apple, Research in Motion and Google’s Android, in general. However, as operating systems competing with Nokia’s such as iOS and Android become more advanced and feature packed, it seems like Nokia is being left behind. When you think Nokia, you may think of those classic candybar style dumphones that everyone used to have with black and white displays but if think more recent, you’re most likely thinking the N900.

Featuring a 3.5-inch 800 x 480 touchscreen display alongside a 600MHz ARM Cortex A8 processor, and advanced PowerVR SGX 530 GPU, up to 1GB of virtual memory, a 5 megapixel rear facing camera and front facing camera, the Nokia N900 is still a phone to be reckoned with despite being release some time ago. While the hardware is decent even by today’s standards, the thing really holding Nokia back is their operating system, Maemo 5 in this case, that has been deemed not up to par with competing software, as I mentioned above.
With all of the talk of Nokia possibly losing their crown, now would be the perfect time to not only launch their new MeeGo operating system, but also a new feature packed smartphone. If you’ve been paying attention you’ll know that a few days ago pictures of the supposed Nokia N9 had hit the Internet but still speculation arose as to whether or not the phone was legit.
Lucky for us, Negri Electronics (the same folks responsible for the leaked pictures mentioned above) have come forth to show off the phone in all of its glory on a video. Of course, the phone is seen running Nokia’s S60 OS which is essentially dead software walking so it’s obviously an early prototype. If/when this phone is announced and/or released, it is expeted to feature Nokia’s new and improved operatign system dubbed MeeGo.
Check out the video below and let us know what you think.
