Nickelodeon Fit To Help Kids Stay In Shape

New Wii Game From Take-Two Will Keep Kids Toned With Nickolodeon Characters Like Dora The Explorer

Nintendo’s Wii Fit caused a bit of a controversy when it came out after it called a young girl “fat” (although it actually said she was just overweight). If your kids do spend too much time on the video games, you can help get them into shape with an upcoming game from 2K Games, Nickelodeon Fit will be an exercise game for kids with popular characters from the Nickelodeon TV channel.

This is apart of the ongoing “exer-gaming” or exercise gaming crazy. There have been a ton of Wii exercise games, and expect a ton to come out for the PlayStation Move and Microsoft Kinect. None of these games however, will the exception of the age-agnostic appeal of Wii Fit have really been oriented for kids.

Nickelodeon Fit will use popular Nickelodeon characters from such shows as “Dora The Explorer”, “Go, Diego, Go!” “Ni-Hao”, “Kai-lan” and “The Backyardigans.” As strange as this might sound – it actually may be fun for kids and get them off the sofa. If only they had this when I was a lad – maybe I wouldn’t look like I grew up spending 50 hours a week playing GoldenEye 64. My only concern is that Dora (see picture above) doesn’t exactly look like a young Aphrodite up there. Maybe she’ll spend some time on the Nickelodeon Fit, too.

What do you think about the Nickelodeon Fit? Good for kids or stupid gimmick? Sound off in the comments.

I love this! And I plan to buy this for my children if some additional reviews pan out. I mean, I love that it’s geared toward kids, but if it’s not as fun as the original Wii Fit, my kids won’t bother with it.
And as for Dora not looking like a little Aphrodite… Thank God! Little kids should NOT be focused on body shape and appearance. They should be focused on health and activity – and how much fun fitness can be!
