Motorola Charm Still Expected As Coming To T-Mobile, May Be Called The Motorola Basil
Its only been one day, but that has not stopped the Motorola Charm from coming back with a new name. The name switch comes by way of an image of what appears to be some internal training documents. But regardless of what the documents is, it would now appear as if the Motorola Charm is going to be called the Motorola Basil. Of course, still with T-Mobile here in the US.

Unfortunately, despite the recent update and new name we are still left with few other details. Basically, its still limited to the handset running Android 2.1 and sporting the MOTOBLUR user interface.
That aside, this latest image confirms the form factor. Of course, given the image we had yesterday there was not much room for doubt. Personally I am curious to see where we will see this come in as far as the T-Mobile device lineup. It does not appear to be a high-end device, but more of mid-range. With that and assuming it has a fair price tag this could become a decent selling device for T-Mobile.
Obviously a big attraction here comes in with the BlackBerry-esque styling in that is has a display up top and full QWERTY keyboard below. Interestingly enough, there are lots of interesting hardware keys on the phone. On plenty of other Android phones you have either a row of hardware or software buttons for Home, Menu, Back and Search. In this case you have three buttons which include Menu, Home and Back. But on top of that you also have the Email, Camera and Search buttons on the bottom left of the keyboard — a nice touch.
Still, in the end we are left wondering most of the details, noteably the important ones such as when it will be available and how much it will cost. That said, its nice to see another leak, even if its just a small change with the name. Hopefully maybe next time we can get a little more.
