Microsoft Kin Getting Update This Summer [Kin One, Kin Two Getting Software Update To Fix Bugs and Other Software Issues]
If you just went out and bought a cheap Microsoft Kin at their new low prices, but were disappointed by bugs – don’t fret. A Microsoft community moderator has revealed that a software update is coming for the phones in mid-summer. The moderator promises that the update will fix some issues with the phones.

A user named Daisha took to Microsoft’s support forums and complained about bugs on the phone’s software as well as some other complaints regarding the phones’ Twitter functionality. A forum moderator Mike chimed in with this message:
Hi Daisha,
Your feedback has been heard — there already is a KIN update (scheduled for mid-summer) in the works that covers many of your concerns. :)
Remember that the Kin One and Kin Two aren’t running Windows Mobile 6.5 or Windows Phone 7 – they’re running a custom version of Windows Embedded CE that’s gone through extensive UI customization to look like Windows Phone 7.
The Microsoft Kin, by all regards, hasn’t been doing well. In addition to the official price cut from Verizon (linked above), we’ve already seen Best Buy offering the phone at cheap cut-throat prices.
As we’ve opined here before, people under the age of 25 seem to really be taking to the Kin phones. It seems to me that Verizon is really hurting their market for this device by requiring an expensive smartphone data plan to go with it (as opposed to the cheaper featurephone data plan).
Moderator Mike’s message is all we have on the Kin updates, so far. No further details were given by Microsoft.
