More iOS 4 Bugs Revealed [iOS 4 Users Can't Send MMS, Contacts Deleted, Push Notifications Not Pushing - Is iOS 4 Running Good For You?]
Although iPhone 4 came out this past Friday, even the regular folk with iPhone 3G and iPhone 3GS devices were able to update their phones to iOS 4 on Monday. Unfortunately, as we’ve covered here previously – the update hasn’t been the smoothest as many users are reporting serious bugs in the new mobile operating system.

Here’s a rundown of all iOS4 bugs we’ve seen reported on the internet.
- Blurry images is probably the biggest one. Users who have their photos synced to iTunes have noticed that the images are now blurry when they first updated to iOS4. TFTS reader Ryan found this workaround in our comments and posted this. It seems to work for most:
- Camera app crashes are another serious problem. Some users are reporting that when you attempt to use the camera, the virtual shutter won’t open again, and the whole phone locks up. This applies to any app that users the camera, like Facebook.
- Many users have reported, both to our site and to other sites that with iOS4 they’re unable to send MMS (media text messages) to their friends.
- The iOS 4 update is deleting the contracts of some users, and attempting to use iTunes to back it up doesn’t work.
- In iOS 4, some users are reporting that push notifications no longer work on their iPhone.
- Users are reporting that the option to change the period of time before the screen auto-locks is ‘locked’ at 1 minute.
- And finally, some are reporting that the iOS 4 update fails and the iPhone just reboots endlessly. This sounds more to me like the phone was accidentally unplugged or something and the firmware in the phone is incomplete. Regardless, I hope you’re under warranty and can get a new one from Apple.
“mine were really low res and blurry. So i
1. went back in to iTunes
2. clicked on iPhone
3. Clicked Photos Tab
4. un-ticked the Sync Photos box
5. clicked “don’t remove photos” when prompted
6. Re ticked Sync Photos.
7. It synced quickly (about 20 seconds for 537 photos)
Now they’re all back to high res – you’ll still get a momentary optimising [sic] images warning, but only quickly.
Worked for me is all I can say.”
Any of our users had these bugs? Have you had success with Apple tech support helping you or either exchanging it for a new one? Chime in on the comments.
