A new Android-powered phone has been launched by ZTE for the entry-level market, their first Android handset in China. This is the ZTE X850, a modest phone that comes with an impressive list of features despite a small 2.8″ 320×240 resolution touch screen display.

The ZTE X850 will be carried by China Unicorn and comes with features that include a 600 MHz Qualcomm MSM7227 processor with 3D hardware acceleration, 256 MB RAM, 512 MB ROM, GPS and a 3.2 MP camera. The phone also provides support up to 16GB for memory card expansion while also coming with various networking capabilities for GSM/ WCDMA/HSDPA and WiFi networks.

The first China Android phone also comes with its fair share of entertainment, offering some decent 3D support for games and powerful audio playback as it supports media files like MP3, MP4 and AAC.

The ZTE X850 measures 102x54x14.5mm and comes in an arc design and body engineered plastic. It weighs only 100g (without the battery) which should make it a lightweight and portable device to have along anywhere you go. The ZTE X850 retails for about $173.
