Three UK Has iPhone Tariffs, Just No iPhones [Three UK Doesn't Sell iPhones Directly, But They Still Are Selling iPhone Plans With microSIMs]

iPhone 4 went on sale in England about three hours ago, by my calculation. UK carrier Three isn’t selling iPhones directly to carriers, but thanks to the beauty of unlocked iPhones, they’ll still offering iPhone plans. If you bring your own iPhone over from an Apple Store, Three will provide you with a microSIM to use in the phone.

Three’s “SIM only” plan for the iPhone 4 is the same as their plan for the iPhone 3GS, as you’d expect. How do the tariffs stack up compared to the other carriers?

  • £15 - 300 any network minutes, 3000 text messages, 2000 Three-to-Three Minutes, 1GB of Internet, month-to-month contract
  • £25 – 2000 any network minutes, 5000 text messages, 5000 Three-To-Three Minutes, 1GB of Internet, 12-month contract.

Compared to what Vodafone, O2 and Orange are offering, how does it stack up? You can see our coverage of Vodafone, O2 and Orange pricing below:

As an American looking in at all this, it seems that Three has the cheapest plans if you need a MicroSIM, but their distribution of minutes is rather weird. Seems that Orange has the best offer in the UK, as they offer unlimited data for the iPhone. All other carriers have limited their data to 1GB per month.

Unlike us in the States (And the Japanese), the Brits actually have a choice of iPhone carriers. Which one have you gone with?
