eBay Acquires RedLaser

eBay Acquires New Barcode Scanning App to Make Shopping Easier for Mobile Shoppers

In a move to help make buying easier for their shoppers, eBay has reportedly acquired RedLaser, a barcode scanning app, which should make shopping a snap with the iPhone. The concept that eBay is leaning on is quite simple; make it easier for customers by allowing them to check if a certain item is also available over at the eBay inventory.

There have been apps released for the iPhone in the past which make budget shopping a whole lot easier. With the new RedLaser app, a consumer simply has to scan a product they come across and a similar product available on eBay will come up.

Hence, eBay just made shopping easier for the typical consumer. The app should get a thumbs up from shoppers who work on a budget prior to making an actual purchase.

Now, they can be able to get a lot of savings through the comparison of preferred consumer items after proper canvassing has been made using the RedLaser barcode scanning app on their iPhones.

The app is expected to go live soon on eBay although there is no word if it would be offered for free.
