BlackBerry Bold / Torch 9800 Coming at AT&T?
The BlackBerry 9800 slider, a device that combines both a large touchscreen display and a full QWERTY keyboard, is a new RIM invention that we can’t possibly like. We looked at it from every angle and we’re definitely not going to praise this weird Berry for its looks.

Called the Bold 9800 by some or the Torch 9800 by others, the device in the picture has been spotted in various leaked shots so far but hasn’t been made official. For some reason RIM is still not happy with it otherwise the company would have introduced it by now, wouldn’t they?
Today we have new pictures of the phone in action and it looks like AT&T is going to be selling it to those BlackBerry lovers ready to experience the first BlackBerry smartphone that comes with a touch-based interface and the regular, very famous by now, QWERTY keyboard.
The Bold / Tourch 9800 will come with the all new BlackBerry 6 OS on board which is definitely a nice change of pace for RIM. Despite still relying mostly on devices that come with actual physical buttons, RIM has acknowledged the fact that touch interfaces are going to be more and more present in our future lives so it’s about time to see them adapt their mobile OS to our modern requirements.
AT&T has not said anything about the 9800 either but the carrier is definitely busy with the whole iPhone launch process. The device in the pictures here comes with support for WCDMA bands I, II, V and VI which means the phone will be available for use in most parts of the world.
Of course, if you’re looking for different hot slider phones, especially models with landscape full keyboards, then you could always get the Motorola Droid, Motorola Droid X or the upcoming Motorola Droid 2 or some of the future Windows Phone 7 smartphones and leave this 9800 behind.
So what do you say, RIM, when is this BlackBerry 9800 coming out? It might not be so pleasant to the eye but we could get used to it provided it can impress us with some cool specs and features.
