Virgin Mobile Expected To Launch MiFi 3G Router June 28th
Details of a Novatel MiFi 3G router coming to Virgin Mobile have been recently revealed. It seems that a Virgin Mobile branded MiFi was recently shown off during a Best Buy summer preview event, however it was later confirmed by Virgin Mobile.

As of now the MiFi is expected to be available as of June 28th, and is going to be sold in Best Buy and Radio Shack retail stores as well as online direct with the carrier. The price of the modem will be $149, which may sound high — but remember this is a contract free offering.
In terms of the monthly service, the MiFi will fall under the Virgin Mobile Broadband2Go plans which means as low as $10 a month and as high as $60 per month. Or more specifically, you can opt to get 100MB of data for $10, 300MB of data for $20, 1GB of data for $40 or 5GB of data for $60. All of these plans are based on 30 day increments with the exception of the $10 plan, that will expire after 10 days. Of course, with only 100MB of data you will most likely need more before 10 days anyway.
And for those that may not be as familiar with the MiFi name, its a 3G modem that allows you to create a personal hotspot using the available 3G connection. And in turn you can then connect up to 5 Wi-Fi capable devices. In terms of battery life, the MiFi is expected to offer about 4 hours of run time with about 40 hours on standby.
All in all these pre-paid 3G cards actually seem pretty appealing, at least more so than a pre-paid phone anyway. Especially if you are the type of person who likes to have the option available but does not actually need to use it very often. With this deal you can sign up and cancel as needed.
