Confirmed: No White iPhone 4 Until Late July
Apple was only allowing pre-orders of the Black iPhone 4 back on June 15th, but there was a lot of people wanted that white iPhone, it seemed. There was considerable demand for the pale iPhone and it was assumed that you’d be able to order the white iPhone 4 in person on the day the iPhone came out. Apple has now confirmed that the white iPhones aren’t going to be coming out until later in July.

Apple released a very brief statement regarding the white iPhones. Here’s what they said, in it’s entirety:
White models of Apple’s new iPhone® 4 have proven more challenging to manufacture than expected, and as a result they will not be available until the second half of July. The availability of the more popular iPhone 4 black models is not affected.
“Late” July is all that Apple is offering on the topic. The rumors that you’d be able to get one at Best Buy or other outlets as part of a promotion proved false, unfortunately for those who crave such an iPhone 4.
Why would the white iPhone be more difficult to produce? Is Foxconn carving the white out of pure diamond or something? Seems like it should just be as easy as the black one.
To those who were holding out for the white iPhone 4, what are you going to do now?
