HTC Mozart Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Gets Leaked in Australia [HTC Mozart WP7 Handset Coming at Telstra in October?]
After all the iOS 4 action we’ve seen yesterday, it’s time we also focus on the competition for a second. And I’m not talking Android this time around but Windows Phone 7. We’re approaching the end of June and fall is closer than you think. That’s when Microsoft and its partners are going to launch the first Windows Phone 7 handsets in an attempt to revive Microsoft’s mobile business.

We’ve already seen Windows Phone 7 at MWC 2010 and MIX 10 this year so we pretty much know what the Redmond-based company has in store for us. What we haven’t really seen are some hot WP7 handsets which are expected to arrive from HTC, LG, Samsung, and probably other handset manufacturers.
Today we hear that somewhere in Australia, some documents and even an image of a HTC-made WP7 smartphone have been leaked. The phone in question is dubbed HTC Mozart and it’s expected to hit Australian stores by October.
The device in the picture is said to be photoshopped as it’s basically an HTC Desire with Windows Phone 7 powers. If you look carefully you’re going to spot the Android home screen of the Desire on the left there.
Moving on from that really bad Photoshop job we’re told that the internal Telstra documents that got leaked are apparently more than real. It seems that Telstra didn’t quite have an image for the HTC Mozart yet and they used whatever they had at hand. But the phone is rumored to arrive this fall in Australia and it’s expected to hit U.S. stores courtesy of T-Mobile.
There are no official details about the Mozart yet as HTC is probably not quite ready to let them loose to the crowds. It will be definitely interesting to see how these new WP7 HTC handsets will measure up against HTC’s more famous Android devices. What would you pick between a Windows Phone 7 and an Android HTC smartphone?
