Best Buy To Begin Offering 'Exclusive' White HTC EVO 4G

It looks like the HTC EVO 4G felt the need to attract some additional attention, as if it really needed any given all of the popularity that its seen thus far. Regardless, there is now another EVO 4G that is set to come available and its ditching the standard black exterior.

The new, or should I say newly colored HTC EVO 4G is ditching the black backing in favor of white. And while I hate to make the obvious comparison to the iPhone, the HTC EVO 4G will now be available with two exterior casing colors — black and white.

I guess this is good news for anyone that wanted to, and has not yet picked up an EVO because you now have two color options to pick from instead of one. And aside from the case color, the specs are the same as what we have already learned which include a 4.3 inch display, 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 4G/3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, Android 2.1 and more.

As for picking up one of these new EVO’s, that can be done by way of Best Buy who are said to have an exclusive offering — at least for a little while anyway. The details, which come by way of an anonymous Engadget tipster include that the phone will be sold exclusively at Best Buy until at least August 8th. After which its rumored to come available direct with Sprint. Additionally, other retailers such as Radio Shack are expected to also get the phone, but not until sometime in September.

Bottom line, it looks like the white EVO 4G will be officially available as of July 11th, however the pre-orders (with Best Buy) will begin today, that is as long as you are willing to sign a two year agreement with Sprint and plunk down your $199.99.
