Panasonic Lumix Gets Firmware Hack For Better Video
If you own a Panasonic Lumix GH1, and you’ve wished it could do a better job when it comes to video, then take heart, because a new firmware hack is going to give you exactly what you want.
The biggest problem, so it’s said, is low bitrates used in recording. But now, thanks to this firmware hack, the doors have been torn off and some really impressive new options have opened up.
But the hack in question, put together by a hacker named Tester 13, may well have done too good a job. Tester 13′s firmware hack has opened up some really impressive options, all right…but possibly too many. Those who have tried the hack are reporting troubles getting the camera to shoot the best possible pictures without exceeding the camera’s buffer limits.
This is extremely technical in nature, and most folks who aren’t deeply into their cameras will probably feel their eyes glaze at the full explanation. But still, if you want to get the most out of your Lumix, check out the firmware hack.
