2010 Mac Mini Teardown Now Available
Following on from previously bringing you a teardown of the mighty HTC EVO 4G and, of course, an Apple iPad teardown that proved quite enlightening, those of you looking to see what makes the new 2010 Mac Mini tick will be pleased to know that it’s now succumbed to iFixit’s teardown treatment.

Once again, as with their iPad teardown, iFixit seem pretty impressed with the overall fabrication of the 2010 Mac Mini as they disassemble it to reveal its two SO-DIMM slots, its single low noise brushless fan, Wi-Fi antenna, logic board and I/O frame assembly (and HDMI).

The teardown treatment further continues to reveal the 2010 Mac Mini’s internal 3/8″ woofer dome, antenna connectors and, of course, its Intel P8600 2.4 GHz Core 2 Duo processor, NVIDIA GeForce 320M graphics processor with 256MB of shared DDR3 SDRAM, Broadcom BCM57765 integrated gigabit ethernet and memory card reader controller, Cirrus 4206ACNZ audio controller and Delta LFE9249-R discrete LAN filter.

All in all, as one would expect from an Apple product, the 2010 Mac Mini meets with iFixit’s overall approval with respect to its internal layout and build quality and make particular mention of concerned ease of accessibility to the device’s RAM slots with 2Gb of RAM in evidence but, thanks to sporting two SO-DIMM slots, the device can support up to 8GB of RAM.
