Rumor: Sony Ericsson "Julie" To Be Lead Windows Phone Device

Rumors Pin Sony Windows Phone As Coming With 1Ghz Processor, QWERTY Keyboard

Sony Ericsson may be offering up a new Windows Phone 7 device, this according to rumors posted on a Sony Ericsson user forum. The alleged tipster promises a Sony Ericsson “Julie”, which he says would come with a ton of awesome high-end features.

According to the tipster, you could expect a dual core 1GHz processor in the Julie, along with a 4-inch touchscreen and a QWERTY keyboard. The design will reportedly be similar to the Xperia X10, so you should expect a fullsize slider like the Motorola Milestone, we’d imagine.

How likely is this? Believe it as much as you’d believe any such rumor – we haven’t checked but we doubt Sony would comment on such rumors. What’s credible about it? Sony Ericsson is signed on as a hardware launch partner for Windows Phone 7. Hardware wise, the phone sounds similar to the Android Xperia X10, which offers a 1Ghz processor and 4-inch touchscreen.

Sony Ericsson has no problems with using different mobile operating systems, as they’ve offered products with Windows Mobile, Symbian and Android – and that’s only in recent memory. We’ll keep our eye on this story and rumored device.
