Everbest EB-900 eBook Reader Revealed

ECS Elitegroup unveils a new eBook Reader at the COMPUTEX 2010

ECS Elitegroup tries to penetrate the eBook market with the unveiling of the Everbest EB-900 eBook reader at the COMPUTEX 2010. This new eBook reader boasts of a 9.7″ E-Ink display and is scheduled to launch initially in China and Taiwan next month.

Among the features of the new ECS Everbest EB-900 eBook Reader include a Marvell PXA 166e 800 MHz processor, touch screen capability, 1 GB of built-in memory and running on Linux 2.6. Other supporting features of the new ECS eBook reader include WiFi capability, 3G, WiMax, an optional Bluetooth a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microUSB connector and a SD card expansion slot.

Now you would think that with a crowded eBook market, why would ECS decide to unveil one? This is practically the same old store if you date it back to laptops and notebooks. ECS has always been around, regardless if they come in late or not. The obvious goal of ECS is to make sure that they can offer something in that niche and give the big boys a run for their money.

And while it was not mentioned, you can bet that they will be offering a more user-friendly and competitive pricing scheme. They have done this in other areas of the technology market and it certainly seems curious how much the ECS Everbest EB-900 eBook reader will initially cost.
