Respawn Entertainment To Make "Big Time" E3 Announcement

Former Call of Duty Heads To Announce Something At E3

Jason West and Vince Zampella, the two former heads of Infinity Ward (the game developers behind the insanely popular Call of Duty series), recently started their own company – Respawn Entertainment – following a dispute with Activision, the owners of Infinity Ward. Now, they’ve got something planned for E3.

West and Zampella left the company they founded, Infinity Ward, after some problems with the way their parent company, Activision was running things. They founded a new company, dubbed Respawn Entertainment, and reportedly hired away several key people from Infinity Ward.

West and Zampella posted on Facebook that they’ve got a “Big Time” announcement coming at E3. It’s a big hard to imagine what they could be showing. Since most modern video games are developed on a two-year cycle and they’re building a new company to boot, it’s hard to imagine Respawn having any gameplay footage or even a cinematic video of a new project their working on.

It’s possible that the duo plans to make a business announcement or something similar. Electronic Arts (the arch-nemesis of Activision, who is in turn upset with West and Zampella – the enemy of my enemy) is funding the startup costs of Respawn Entertainment, so they might have something to say on this front, as well.

This year’s E3 is really shaping up to be something, with multiple storylines converging on the show next week. Whatever happens, we’ll surely be covering the show here at TFTS.
