Alienware M11x Notebook Officially Updated

An updated version of the Alienware M11x gaming notebook has been rumored for a while now, and coming as a little bit of good news for anyone that may have been holding off on a purchase — its now available. The latest update includes a bump in terms of the processor and graphics.

To begin with, the M11x has been given a few new options in terms of the processor which includes Intel Core i5 and Core i7. Other changes include options to pack in up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB of storage or a 256GB SSD drive.

Still, with the additions and upgrades there was one item that was removed, the VGA port. Of course, this may not be as big of an issue given the M11x is still sporting a HDMI out.

But perhaps most important is the change with graphics — the M11x is now using Nvidia Optimus graphics, which means that users will be able to make a seamless transition from integrated to discrete graphics.

Other features that were (and remain) in the Alienware M11x include Windows 7, an 11 inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution, Firewire, Ethernet, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 2.1, three USB 2.0, 3.5mm headphone jack, microphone in, stereo speakers, 3 in 1 memory card reader and a weight of 4.4 pounds.

Additionally, the M11x comes with an AlienFX illuminted keyboard (noted as an exclusive design) and 8 cell battery. The one catch in terms of the battery is that its built-in, which means no carrying around an extra battery for added juice while on the go.

In terms of pricing, you can expect to pay a starting price of $899, though the Core i5 and i7 options are a little higher with a starting price of $949. All in all these are some nice looking options in a notebook with an 11 inch display that is capable of doing some fairly serious gaming.
