No Verizon iPhone 4 Mentioned at WWDC 2010
Well folks, despite the fact that WWDC still has a few more days of Apple packed action, virtually everything about the iPhone 4 has been outed from the release date and price point to the iOS4 operating system powering it. We’ve seen the front facing camera (that you can only use on WiFi, mind out) the 720p capable 5 mega pixel camera (with flash) on the back and of course the device’s beautiful new 960 x 640 screen.

One thing we haven’t heard of that many users were surely keeping an eye out for was a Verizon version of the iPhone. While there have been numerous rumors and even more speculation regarding Apple making the jump to Verizon, it seems that those wishing for such a thing have just got their hopes and dreams smashed, for now.
However, don’t be getting too discouraged yet as those who have speculated in the past did not expect a Verzion iPhone to get announced at this year’s WWDC 2010. If you’ll remember, not too long ago, we told you that AT&T and Apple were still in an exclusivity contract that lasted for 5 years. This led many to believe that there wouldn’t be an iPhone for Verizon until 2012, which is something that is still entirely plausible.
For all of you Verizon folks out there anxiously awaiting this, I’m a bit curious — Will you stick it out until 2012 (when the Verizon iPhone is expected to debut), will you give up and head to AT&T or will you explore other phones like the Droid Incredible and brush the new iPhone 4 off? Let us know in the comments.

I love my Incredible and the new iPhone does not make me want to leave Verizon. ATT is still a mess and with the EVO HTC phone coming soon to Verizon who needs an iPhone and the headaches?
The wait is over. I have held out for the iphone on Verizon for too long now. So its either stick with the Blackberry, or move to the Droid for the next 2 years. Decision time, this week!
I think the fact that ATT is letting anyone eligible for an upgrade by the end of the year get upgrade pricing at launch on the Iphone 4 for signing a new 2 year contract might be a sign they are trying to hold on to customers that may have an opportunity to leave soon.
I can’t get AT&T where I live – which should be grounds for a class action anti-monopoly lawsuit – I and refuse to reward Verizon for passing on the iPhone to begin with by buying an expensive alternative. In fact, I am so disappointed in the lack of a Verizon announcement today, I am canceling my data plan with Verizon and will just use the thing as phone until iPhone comes to Verizon (heck, I need to start saving for the price anyway).
Frankly, I would threaten to abandon my Macs for Windows 7 in protest if it weren’t tantamount to technological suicide.
I’m getting over the ups and downs of waiting for iphone for verizon. Getting to the point of moving to AT&T. Their network is a complete joke, but if they have the iphone then fine. If verizon does not have the iphone before the holidays then I will be the most unhappy pissed off costomer that apple and AT&T will ever have.
I too have waited awhile for the iphone. Being a previous customer of AT&T I will not go back. I hope that Verizon wakes up and realizes what it is doing to it’s customer base as we once again are flattened by their inability to reach an agreement with Apple. I agree that there is an odd feeling about the AT&T changes in data plans and the allowance for upgrade early. I am still hoping that Apple and Verizon wake up and see that there are millions of us waiting and at $299.00 each that is alot to both bottom lines. If the iphone is not on Verizon soon then there will be a huge divide of those who are there because they love Verizon and those who are there simply because they are. Wake up Verizon and Apple and do the right thing.
The wait is getting ridiculous. How can Apple turn the opportunity to make even more millions than they do today? I will wait until the holidays as others have said; but by then it will probably be a Droid. Verizon network is the only way to go where we live.
Imagine a iphone bloated with Verizon’s software with Verizon logos everywhere to slow things down then a dual mode chip to kill the battery faster stack the fact that you cant use the internet when on the phone with Verizon. apple may never go to them maybe when they roll out their LTE 4G network. but i dont see it any sooner
I to only have verizon coverage where I live this is crap i’m so mad well if they don’t get the iphone by the holiday I guess i’m gonna go with the incredible or what ever they get out around the holiday (verizon) (apple) like the previous comment said WAKE UP!!! there is so many of us customers here at verizon that want the iphone and that want the iphone. BRING US THE IPHONE !!! you’ll make so much more money than you do now we promise!!!!!
Hey At&T haters. When will you all accept that Verizon’s 3G network is outdated and that its CDMA technology does NOT fit the Iphone needs! AT&T’s network is not as bad as all of you are saying. I get 2.5 mbps in my location at any time. Can Verizon do that? No way. The reason why the Iphone hasn’t been released to Verizon is technical. NONE of you can say Apple doesn’t know how to do business. That would be a very silly comment with all the numbers we see on the news and also the iphone great technology. I believe the Iphone might be available to Verizon when we move to 4g networks. It will take a while tough. At least 18 months.
well verizon is pretty much stupid. Everyone wants an iPhone. not that its better than the otherds, but because of all the apps and its apple. ik droid has a lot of apps, but iPhone started the app craze and most developers start out on apple. Verizon needs to stop attacking the iPhone, because when the contract ends they’re going to need to adopt it. they should stop wasting money on the ads, and put that into their coverage so when they get the iphone their service doesnt crash
OK you guys really need to do some research here before you go blabbing your mouths about verizon being awesome … Shawn has it completely correct. Apple knows that Verizon is in a transition and the fact of bringing an iphone to their network would uterly destroy it and not to mention many of the key features of the iphone wouldnt even work on their network! There is an article posted about att’s 3G vs verizon 3G and LTE look it up ( as i probably cant post the link) it may surprise you. Furthermore Steve Jobs himself said in the D8 conference interview that ANY (thats right ANY) network that would have got the iphone would have had as many problems as ATT had. You have to remember the influx the iphones (especially iphone 3g) brought to the network. The sheer data alone pushed ATT to develope special towers dedicated to iphone data traffic and it is still not enough! But back to the point about the network differences. ATT will win this battle in the long run like they always have becsaue they dont jump from one generation to the next, they take stepping stones (e.g. 2g-edge(2.5g)-then 3g. This means all their services can still work when not in 3g coverage. Not to mention that ATT’s “speed” on 3g is faster than the minimum LTE speed (which most everyone will get for some time anyways) I am no fanboy of wither BUT i see the facts and everyone here seems to be ignoring them. YES LTE is better than 3g i get that, but it doesnt crush it like everyone seems to think. In summary ATT will continue the course and improve their network like they always have and Verizon will try to one-up them like they always have. If the companys would stp wasting money on slaming one or the other then they would have a lot more money and resources to put into their networks … ahh we can only dream though :)
Verizon wireless SUCKS for not completing a deal that would allow verizoners to purchase an Iphone and activate it on the verizon!!!! someone please wake up corporate!
