Confirmed: AT&T To Still Offer Unlimited Plan To Late Adapters
In case you missed the news, AT&T ruffled some feathers by doing away with the unlimited data plan for both smartphones and the iPad. Instead, all of their plans will have bandwidth limits, and are a bit cheaper. Most AT&T customers will probably save money with this new plan, but AT&T is still being bashed incessantly. Regardless, AT&T will allow anybody who has the current unlimited iPad 3G plan before June 7th to continue using it, until they cancel it.

It had been rumored a few days ago, but now it’s been confirmed by AT&T’ corporate Facebook page – if you order an iPad 3G on or before June 7th, but don’t receive it from Apple’s Chinese factories until past that date, they’ll allow you to sign up for the unlimited/$30 monthly data plan for the iPad.
AT&T has received a lot of bad press lately (some of it warranted), and them doing away with the unlimited plans is pretty much being universally lauded (although again – most customers will probably save money, and we’ll see all carriers do away with unlimited data very soon). But this is a pretty nice touch of them to continue to offer data plans to users who may be rushing to buy an iPad before the expiration date on the unlimited data plans.
