Acer Liquid E Android Smartphone Now Available In Canada, Exclusively With Rogers [Acer Liquid E With Android 2.1 Announced For Rogers, Available Today For $49.99]
Another nice looking Android smartphone has just been made available with Rogers Wireless. The handset is the Acer Liquid E, which happens to be running Android 2.1. That said, and perhaps of a little more interest to those in Canada — the Liquid E will be a Rogers exclusive.

Sounds like a good deal for Rogers, still, we cannot help but think of how much cooler it would have been had they announced the Ferrari edition that we mentioned yesterday.
Anyway, in terms of pricing, I think you will find this one pretty fair. The Liquid E is priced at $49.99 on a three year agreement. Of course there are other pricing options available which include the much more expensive $324.99, $374.99 and $424.99 for two, three and contract free respectively. Big jump from the three year price to the two year price.
Otherwise, the features are what we have seen before in the Liquid E spec sheets, still here is a quick recap. The Liquid E comes touting a 3.5 inch WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, HSDPA 7.2Mbps, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g, GPS, microSD card slot and a 5 megapixel camera with 2x zoom and video recording.
In addition, the Liquid E is noted as coming with three XT9 keyboards, which include a QWERTY, half QWERTY and 12 digit numeric all of which can be used in portrait and landscape. In terms of the overall size of the device, it measures in at 4.53 x 2.52 x 0.50 inches.
Plus, similar to other smartphones on Rogers, the Liquid E is shipping with a 2GB microSD card included.
As for the software, I did mention Android 2.1 and that means some of the little goodies such as live wallpapers. But more importantly is all of the Google and social networking integration. Also, having Android 2.1 means Google Maps Navigation is available and thus takes away some of the need for a standalone GPS unit.
And just like that I am thinking Rogers has probably put a damper on any potential Motorola Quench sales, that is, unless you are specifically looking for a device with MOTOBLUR.
