HTC EVO 4G Teardown Already Available

Earlier today we’ve shown you some shady iPhone 4/4G/HD parts which will only be confirmed once the device gets dismantled and now we’re going to tell you more about handset parts but this time around we’re focusing on the HTC EVO 4G.

The hottest Android smartphone to date is coming in a few days, on June 4, but, as you already know from Google I/O, a few lucky conference attendees, and by a few I mean over 4,000 of them, have already gotten their HTC EVO 4G well in advanced. And these phones started selling like hotcakes on Craigslist and eBay soon after Google I/O closed its doors so we’re not that surprised to see the device torn apart by the guys over at iFixit.

It’s always interesting to take a peek inside some of the hottest devices out there, especially one that’s going to be the iPhone contender we’ve been waiting for.

Besides pictures we also get to spot some hidden details about the device. The HTC EVO 4G comes with a 3.7V, 1500mAh Li-ion battery that weighs 31g and offers 23% more capacity than the iPhone 3GS, 15% more than the Droid Incredible and 7% more than the Nexus One. The battery comes with a liquid damage indicator which means you won’t be able to lie about it when dropping your EVO 4G in any kind of liquid.

The insides of the device also reveal the main board with lots of details about the parts it contains:

• A Broadcom BCM4329 integrating Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and FM connectivity to provide speeds up to 50 Mbits/s in 802.11n.
• Sequans SQ1210 RF combo chip.
• Qualcomm’s QSD8650 Snapdragon processor.
• Amtel’s AMT224 Touchscreen controller.
• Qualcomm’s RTR6500 CDMA2000 transceiver with GPS.
• Qualcomm’s PM7540 power management IC.
• Samsung KBY00U00VM NAND Flash.
• Avago’s FEM7758 front end module.
• Texas Instruments TPS65051 6-channel Power Mgmt IC.
• Triquint TQM613029 CDMA PA-Duplexer Module

So there you have it, the HTC EVO 4G teardown process is already complete a few days before Sprint starts selling it in stores.
