AT&T Stores Getting Special Displays For iPhone? [New Report Says That AT&T Sending Engineers To Setup In-Store iPhone Signs?]
Everybody suspects the iPhone 4 will be unveiled by Steve Jobs at the upcoming WWDC conference, and everybody expects it’ll be on sale in either June or July sometime after that. The iPhone is the best selling phone on AT&T, and so they’re ramping up for the high demand.

BoyGeniusReport is saying that a source within AT&T is telling them that AT&T is sending around engineers to AT&T retail locations. What are these engineers doing? They’re setting up a “new kind of display”. We’re taking this to mean the traditional in-store promo signage.
Boy Genius believes that these are new iPhone signs/promos. Everybody is assuming that this is one of those super-oversized phones. Google had one at the Nexus One launch. It was basically a giant LCD touchscreen, with bezel that made it look like a giant Nexus One. It probably was connected to some PC somewhere and was running an Android emulator that made it look like a Nexus One. To the untrained eye, it looked like a giant Nexus One.
Some have said that they’ve seen similar “giant iPhones” around, so are these “special displays” that are coming to AT&T stores these giant iPhones? Well, the jury is out.
Some AT&T employees wrote on BGR’s entry, saying that these new displays aren’t related to the iPhone 4, and that they’re actually electronic sign-in forms to make appointments with the wonderful AT&T retail staff. You know, so they can talk you into getting a Samsung Jack.
Any AT&T employees out there know the truth? Are these giant iPhones or are they just the virtual sign-in screens?
