Samsung i897 Android Smartphone Revealed, Expected To Arrive With AT&T
Assuming that we can believe this latest rumor, then it would appear as if AT&T users will have another Android smartphone to pick from. The handset is the Samsung i897 and its sporting looks similar to that of the Galaxy S. And in a little extra good news, the i897 is running Android 2.1.

First things first here, this could be a nice addition to the current Android lineup with AT&T, if nothing else its certainly nicer than the Backflip. Of course, the i897 does not have a hardware QWERTY.
Other feature that are expected include a rather nice sized 4 inch touchscreen display, which is said to be AMOLED as well as a 5 megapixel camera and a Snapdragon processor. Given that last bit, its likely to assume that will be 1GHz in speed. Additionally, I mentioned Android 2.1, but this will be nice for those that prefer the vanilla experience because its being demo’d with a stock version of Android.
Still, we are missing some important details such as when it will be available and how much it will end up selling for. There are also a bunch, well most of the hardware specs that were left unmentioned. That said, its pretty safe to assume that it will have the usual suspects including a microSD card, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and USB 2.0.
Also, it was not specified, but one of the images is showing what appears to be a standard 3.5mm headphone jack. Or, we can only hope that its a 3.5mm jack. Other details that can be gleamed from the images suggest that this will be a full Google experience phone. Read: AT&T please don’t Yahoo! this one. But back to that image, it clearly shows a Google search widget, Gmail app, Google Talk, YouTube and the Android Market as well as Google and AT&T Maps.
Otherwise, it looks like we are going to have some waiting to do on this one.
