MeeGo for Chrome Now Available, Targets Netbooks & Nettops

MeeGo Netbook User Experience V1.0 Up for Download, MeeGo V1.1 Set for October

By way of a brief heads up for those of you who have been following the development of MeeGo – we have covered MeeGo pretty extensively here on TFTS – as MeeGo V1.0 for Google’s Chrome browser, and which is specifically being targeted at netbooks and nettops, is now available to download.

Offering a UI that undoubtedly doffs its cap in the direction of Moblin, the MeeGo Netbook User Experience (to refer to it by its full, formal name), which has been ‘highly optimized for power and performance’, offers instant access to your synchronized calendar, tasks, appointments, recently used files and real-time social networking updates through the home screen.

MeeGo V1.0 Key Features:

  • For a fast and rich Internet experience the MeeGo Netbook user experience integrates Google Chrome or, if you prefer a fully open source browser solution, Google Chromium is also provided. Soon we will be releasing the MeeGo Handset user experience which will use the Fennec Mozilla Browser.
