Bell Canada Announce iPad Data Plan Pricing

Bell Unveils iPad Data Plans, Get Up To 5GB Of Transfer For $35 Per Month & Free Bell Mobile TV Until August 31st

Most of the International carriers have already announced pricing plans for the iPad Wi-Fi + 3G, however there have been a few stragglers. Just yesterday we leaned what Vodafone Australia were planning on offering and today word comes from Bell Mobility in Canada. And for good or bad, Bell is going to be keeping this simpler (as compared to Vodafone) and only offering two plans.

Overall the Bell offerings are pretty similar in nature to what we have here in the US with AT&T. Well, the terms are similar except the pricing is a little higher on the higher level plan. That said, Bell users will be able to choose from the following two plans.

  • 250MB for $15 per month
  • 5GB for $35 per month

With the plans and pricing out of the way, lets touch on the other features and limits that you can expect. Both plans will be offered contract free and can be renewed or cancelled at any time. And in order to keep the plan active you will need to either renew at the 30 day mark or sooner if you use up your alloted bandwidth.

Additionally, Bell will also be giving free unlimited access to the available Wi-Fi hotspots locations which are located in over 750 Starbuck stores.

One other perk that was mentioned as coming with the data plans is access to Bell Mobile TV which has 13 channels offering content ranging from comedy to kid’s shows, news, sports and weather. Though, the access is free (until August 31, 2010) you will still have to worry out data usage when watching anything. In other words, you may not want to use this on the 250MB plan or you will find yourself maxing out rather quickly.

Finally, in keeping with the International iPad release time frame, these plans will be available as of tomorrow May 28th.
