Vodafone Australia Announce iPad Data Plans & Prices
As the International release day for the iPad comes closer and closer we are still getting new information regarding some of the pricing for data plans. The most recent to make the announcement was Vodafone Australia and they seem to be decent offerings.

Pricing will range from as little as $9.95 AUD per month and goes as high as $49.95 AUD per month. And for those who may be curious and live outside of Australia (like myself) those numbers translate to roughly $8.28 and $41.56 respectively.
But more important than the low and high numbers is the complete break down.
- 250MB for $9.95 AUD
- 1GB for $14.95 AUD
- 4GB for $29.95 AUD
- Unlimited for $49.95 AUD
Keep in mind, the above mentioned plans are on a 30 day time frame. And in what seems like a nice perk, they will also roll over your unused bandwidth (provided that you re-up within the 30 day window). The only catch with that is you can only accumulate a maximum of 14GB of unused data transfer.
And in addition to the 30 day plans there are also two available for longer time periods.
- 6GB for $100 AUD – Expires after 180 days
- 12GB for $150 AUD – Expires after 365 days
Honestly, these last two do not seem to be as nice, but at least the option is there. Of course, the 1GB plan on a monthly basis would be a total of $179.40 for the year, so I guess you do save some money in that respect.
Finally, all of the plans have the usual limits and restrictions in place. For example, it makes mention that these plans are for personal use only can cannot be used on any peer-to-peer services. Also, in order to re-up any of the plans you will need to use an Australian credit card or the Vodafone iPad app.
All said and done, the unlimited option seems pretty nice, though its a bit more than what AT&T is offering here in the US where you can go unlimited for $29.99.
