T-Mobile USA CEO Robert Dotson Announces Plans To Step Down As Acting CEO
Coming by way of an official press release, Robert Dotson has announced plans to step down as the acting CEO of T-Mobile USA. The switch is expected to take place in February 2011, at which time Philipp Humm will be his replacement.

In regards to Robert Dotson, this news comes after having spent 15 years with the company and although he will no longer be the acting CEO as of February of next year, he will remain with the company and “actively engaged in the business until May 2011.”
“For 15 years it has been a privilege to lead the talented T-Mobile USA team in its journey to become a leading U.S. wireless provider. The time is right to ensure a thoughtful leadership transition to position T-Mobile USA for the next 15 years of opportunity,” Dotson said.
In addition, Dotson went on to state that part of the decision to step down comes so he can spend more time with family as well as move on to other “new and unique challenges.”
In regards to Philipp Humm. He is currently responsible for sales and service in Europe as chief regional officer (CRO) Europe. Though in the past he also served as CEO of T-Mobile Deutschland. Humm will move into his roll as T-Mobile USA president and CEO designate as of July 1, 2010 and will work in conjunction with Dotson until February 2011.
