This latest bit of BlackBerry related news comes as little surprise and more of a nice confirmation. Of course, I only say that because (of the previous leaks and rumors) we knew it was in the works, however it is now official. What am I referring to? Good question, and the answer is that T-Mobile is now offering the BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white.

And just like the fact that we knew this handset release was coming, we also already know the specs as they are the same as the previously available BlackBerry Bold 9700 in black.

In terms of pricing, the Bold 9700 comes with an on contract price of $99.99, which comes after a $50 mail in rebate. That means you will need to have $149.99 on hand to make the initial purchase. Additionally, the Bold 9700 can also be purchased off contract for $449.99. A little steep, but its sort of nice knowing you would be able to jump carriers or switch phones at will.

Also, just like the other BlackBerry handsets available, you will need to sign up for a regular calling plan along with the BlackBerry Unlimited Web & Email which costs an additional $49.99 per month on an Even More contract.

Just to offer a little recap on those specs, they include a 3.2 megapixel camera with video recording, Stereo Bluetooth, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and microSD memory card slot. Of course you will also get the standard BlackBerry goodies including personal and corporate email, calendar and contacts, instant messaging, voice dialing, speaker phone, web browsing and more.

Otherwise, the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 kind of feels like a good summertime phone, though with two year contracts I guess its not always possible to plan an upgrade based on a time of year. That said, I like seeing a white BlackBerry, its a phone you can count on, plus its in a color that you don’t see quite as often.
