Apple Working on 2 New iPhones?

Industry Analyst Says Apple Has Been Working on Two New iPhones

We just told you that the new iPhone could potentially be shipping to retailers and consumers next month, the same month that Apple is expected to announce the device, but have you ever wondered what will happen to the iPhone 3GS? Considering all of the new features Apple is packing into the new iPhone, it’s safe to assume that there is a good chance the guys over in Cupertino will be charging us somewhat of a premium, but that doens’t mean they want to leave those who don’t want to break the bank.

If you remember (and how could you not) when the iPhone 3GS came out, Apple slashed the price of the iPhone 3G and still offered it as an alternative to the more expensive model. Well, with the forthcoming release of the new iPhone, Apple will most likely continue their tradition of offering a lower priced model, most likely the 3GS. However, according to some indsutry analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, Steve Jobs and gang may have something we haven’t even thought of up their sleeve.

Kuo says that Apple has been working on another product, code named the N91, that features less changes from the previous generation iPhone (3GS). He then goes on to say that the product codenamed N91 would serve as a sort of security blanket for Apple in case the often leaked 4th Generation iPhone sees any substantial delays.

Unfortunately, until Apple officially announces something, there’s no telling exactly what this N91 product is going to be. In fact, for all we know it could be a slightly modified 3GS that Apple is planning to sell for a lower price.

In reality, we’re not going to know anything for sure until Steve Jobs takes center stage next month to announce the new iPhone. But honestly, how funny would it be if he hops on stage and whips out a device that is nothing like the 4th Generation iPhone that has been leaked several times, or what if he didn’t announce a new iPhone at all? We would have a lot of angry Apple fan boys, that’s for sure.
