T-Mobile myTouch 3G Price Jumps Back Up To $149.99
Yesterday we reported on the good news in that T-Mobile had slashed the pricing of the myTouch 3G all the way down to free on contract. And today we have the unfortunate job to report that the price is no longer free. In fact its back up to an on-contract price of $149.99.

Such a quick turn around, and without official confirmation from T-Mobile one can only speculate that the free price was a mistake. Regardless of the reasoning, at least we saved the screenshot (seen below) which can at least serve to prove that we did not make this up. Or more importantly that we did not temporarily lose our minds.

Either way though, the T-Mobile myTouch 3G in both black and white is now priced at $149.99. And just like yesterday the Fender Limited Edition model has remained at $179.99. I guess this means that my recommendation of picking up this model as opposed to the myTouch 3G Slide goes out the window.
In fact, at this point if you are looking for a myTouch branded phone you may as well hold out for the Slide, which is currently rumored to be arriving on June 2nd. And as we last heard in regards to the Slide, the price is $179.99.
At this point I wonder what is going to happen to those that may have placed an order yesterday. Will the free price tag be honored, or will the orders simply be cancelled? One would hope that T-Mobile would stand behind the confusion, but hey, stranger things have happened in the past. That said, I would love to hear from someone that made a purchase.
Still, I have to ask if the $149.99 price tag is fair. It is pretty close to the $179.99 that the Slide version is priced at, but then again the phones are pretty similar feature wise with the main difference being the lack of hardware keyboard.
