Samsung Rugby II Flip-Style Phone Coming To AT&T On June 6th
Samsung Mobile along with AT&T have announced the upcoming availability of the flip style Rugby II feature phone. The Rugby II is coming as the follow up device to the Rubgy and will be available beginning on June 6th.

In terms of features, this is a flip phone, however its not your basic model. The Samsung Rugby II will feature 3G, a 2 megapixel camera with video recording, external speakers, music player, web browser, Bluetooth and a microSD card slot. Other goodies include a 2.2 inch internal display, 1.3 inch external display, 1300 mAh battery and A-GPS with support for additional services such as AT&T Navigator and TeleNav Track.
The press release that announced this actually made it sound like an exciting handset offering a description such as;
“This is a no-nonsense, durable device with easy-to-use features like Push-to-Talk and a one-touch button to keep you in touch with your contacts while backed by the nation’s fastest 3G network.”
Of course, those no-nonsense and durable comments come in regards to the MIL-STD-810G specifications that the Rugby II meets. In other words, this will be good for the individual on the go and not in an office setting. According to the military standard, the handset is able to “withstand dust, shock, vibration, rain, humidity, solar radiation, altitude and temperature extremes, ideal for use even in the toughest of environments.” And it seems as if AT&T is taking full advantage of that by touting the Rugby II as a good handset for those “navigating challenging terrains, active construction sites, or a large field of workers.”
Additionally, the Samsung Rugby II is PTT capable and that support can be added to your monthly calling plan for $5 per month.
As for pricing, you can expect to pay $129.99. Though I should clarify that price comes after a mail in rebate of $50. In other words, you will need to shell out $179.99 in order to get out of the store with phone in hand.
