LG GW910 Windows Phone 7 Smartphone Caught in the Wild Again? [New Leaked Images Show Packaging of the First LG WP7 Handset, the LG GW910]
This is not the first time we hear that a Windows Phone 7 smartphone from LG is coming this fall. But it looks like this time around we got a clearer picture of the device itself. If the leak above is true then the first LG WP7 handset will be called the GW910 and it will be a Chassis 2 device, just as rumored before.

The first renders of the LG Panther, that’s what this device is expected to be named, have appeared right after the announcement of Windows Phone 7 and the device was shown on video too. But it looks like LG is getting closer and closer to launching the device as the company is already testing the phone in various markets.
Of course, you shouldn’t expect it in stores until later this fall when the first WP7 handsets will hit the market. Besides the pictures of the LG GW910 package we also have a few pictures of the phone as spotted at the Microsoft Innovation Centre in Singapore.

And we have some first unofficial impressions of the handset:
- This is definitely still a prototype device, and there are still quite a few rough edges to be fixed. The device OS is still being updated with new builds almost every other day.
- Even the packaging and box is expected to be different before the final product ships. For example, the current box is not even using the correct Windows Phone 7 logo.
- Despite its prototype status, the phone appears to be more or less feature complete and incredibly responsive and fast. The animations are all very smooth.
- For the time being, you need a special build of the desktop Zune software (Dorado) to sync with the device; the current released version of desktop Zune software won’t work.

With a few months to go before the Panther will be officially unveiled to the public, LG has plenty of time to iron out any issues that still need to be addressed at this time. What do you say? Do you like the Panther or are you more likely to get the HTC Mondrian instead?
