BlackBerry 9800 Slider Gets Its Own Photo Exposé

Touchscreen BlackBerry 9800 Featured In Multiple Pictures, Shows Off Virtual Keyboard

The BlackBerry 9800 Slider has got to be one of the most hotly anticipated upcoming phones for the BlackBerry fanbase. The phone is allegedly going to be a departure from the controversial Storm series of touchscreen phones, and phone will even be sans the questionable “SurePress” clickable touchscreen tech. The guys at TheBerryFix got their hands on one of these phones early, and took pictures of it for all of us to enjoy.

These are definitely the sharpest pictures that we’ve seen of the BlackBerry 9800. It shows the true width of the device, which looks to be a comparable width to the BlackBerry 9000 and 9700 – and somewhat thicker than the usual touchscreen slider, I’d reckon. The virtual keyboard was shown off, new and improved from the Storm series.

As I alluded to earlier, this is a departure from the Storm series. Speculation on the internet has this phone being branded under the “Bold” brand name, and it has a different virtual keyboard and form-factor than the Storm series. Further more, reputable BlackBerry sources have reported to various blogs (not us though, FYI if you work at RIM, feel free to leak stuff to us, too) that RIM is already planning a Storm 3 and 4 which will be more in the vein of the first two.

I’ve grabbed a few of the better pics from and posted them below. What do you think? Any of you iPhone fanboys considering joining those of us that use BlackBerrys?
