Verizon LG Ally Release Date Push Backed to May 27? [Verizon Postpones the Arrival of the LG Ally Android Phone to May 27 or Later; Froyo Not to Blame]
The LG Ally is not the hottest Android smartphone around the block but it was definitely expected to hit Verizon stores on May 20. That hasn’t happened yet and Big Red has pushed the released back to May 27 or even later.

That might not mean that much to those of you actually waiting to get your hands on a HTC Droid Incredible but those people that already pre-ordered the Ally are probably annoyed for not being able to get it.
Why will Verizon do such a thing? We still don’t know the answer to that question but I am sure that Froyo isn’t to blame for the delay. LG can’t possibly offer Froyo on the Ally at this time, can it? I mean Verizon would definitely shoot itself in at least one foot if it were too bring Android 2.2 to the Ally before the HTC Droid Incredible or the Motorola Droid.
Nevertheless, for some hidden reason, those that pre-ordered the LG Android phone got this innocent message from Verizon:
Dear Valued Customer,
This notification is to inform you that Verizon Wireless has received your pre-order of the LG Ally. We have extended the pre-order period for the LG Ally until May 26th.
Since you have pre-ordered, you will be the first to receive the phone upon initial availability on or after May 27th.
We appreciate your business, and we will send you another confirmation email as soon as your LG Ally ships.
Sincerely,Verizon Wireless
On the other hand those of you that want to pre-order the device now, can still do it until May 26. Although I’d definitely advise against it, especially if Big Red and LG are holding off shipments and the actual launch due to some technical problems with the Ally. One can’t be too careful especially when it comes to a brand new smartphone.
Did you pre-order the LG Ally?
