New HTC Droid Incredible Camera Ad Shows Us… the Camera [Verizon Pushes Out New Droid Incredible Commercial Focusing on the Camera Capabilities of the Android Smartphone]

A few days ago we’ve seen a new HTC Droid Incredible TV ad coming from Verizon in which the carrier was showing, for the first time, the actual phone in a commercial. Big Red insisted on the awesomeness of the Droid Incredible and we will not contest that.

However we all know, Verizon included, that more popular phones than the HTC Droid Incredible are coming later this year. The HTC EVO 4G hitting Spring in June and the iPhone 4 coming to AT&T right after the EVO, are probably going to fight for the number one position, at least in the USA, leaving the HTC Droid Incredible on a third, or possible second spot, at most.

The device however has some very interesting specs and features which make it a must have handset in case you’re shopping for the hottest Verizon phone in town. The carrier is well aware of the fact and that’s probably why it is insisting so much on the Incredible as it probably wants to sell as many units as possible before its main rivals hit stores.

The third TV ad featuring the Droid Incredible shows us the phone again while talking about the capabilities of its camera. As you may very well know, the Incredible comes with an 8-megapixel shooter that offers you auto-focus, video capture and dual LED flash, ready for “clear, sharp images.”

The camera is definitely better than most phone cameras available so far, but it’s probably on par with the camera of the HTC EVO 4G. And having read the first HTC EVO 4G reviews recently I’ll remind you that the camera, although impressive, can’t offer the same quality as its digital point-and-shoot counterparts.

So the camera will probably not be the reason for which HTC Droid Incredible fans will want to pick up the phone. What Verizon and HTC should do, in order to significantly increase Incredible sales, is to make sure there’s enough units to go around, and, most importantly, to bring Froyo to the phone as fast as possible.
