New Wiimote Spotted In FCC [New Wiimote From Nintendo Looks The Same As The Old One, MotionPlus Built-in?]
FCC regulatory filings are always good for spying on unannounced and unreleased gadgets. A new Wiimote for the (what else) Nintendo Wii was released spied going through FCC approval. The device was made by Foxconn for Nintendo and looks to be a regular Wiimote, or is it?

Considering that it’s a “new” Wiimote and looks so “plain” have got some fans speculating that the Wii MotionPlus may be built into this ‘mote. MotionPlus is the add-on that adds about another two-inches to the end of an existing Wiimote, but is able to provide 1:1 motion detecting for in-game.
Famed Nintendo game designer Shigeru Miyamoto recently announced that he was working on new games that took advantage of MotionPlus and casually dropped that their would be some new MotionPlus hardware. This normal Wiimote just may fit the bill.
True 1:1 motion sensing had reportedly been considered by Nintendo since the Wii’s launch, but they were unable to affordably put such accurate motion detectors into the Wiimote at the time. Developers and consumer outcry for better motion controls and Nintendo’s own cost-effect studies lead to the MotionPlus (and surely, many Wii gamers were disappointed when they discovered the original Wiimote doesn’t track motion 1:1)
