Motorola Cliq Android 2.1 Update Due Soon?
If you’re a Motorola Cliq owner then we feel for you, we really do, as, whilst Motorola have promised that the Cliq will (eventually, who knows when) gain an OS upgrade to Android 2.1, there’s still no evidence of the upgrade being set to roll but, perhaps, just perhaps, an image of Android 2.1 running on a Motorola Cliq could be seen – by anyone looking for the faintest glimmer of hope – as us getting one step closer to the yet to materialise promised upgrade rolling out.

Agreed, its only a image of Android 2.1 running on a T-Mobile Motorola Cliq (model number MB200 – so definitely the Cliq) and, yes, such an image is all to simple to fake with even the most rudimentary of Photoshop skills but this won’t stop those packing Cliqs hoping that this does indeed hint that the much overdue OS upgrade is on the way.
Motorola, for its part, certainly isn’t acting to put anyone out of their misery just yet, however, so take this image for what you will whilst keeping those fingers tightly crossed and calling on the last reserves of patience you may have. In the meantime we, like many sites, are trying to get a little more information concerning the validity of this image.

While I have enjoyed my Cliq with its “Blur” interface, I have to say I won’t be trying “custom” android phones again. My G1 was awesome and hackable. The Cliq is awesome, but being locked to an OS because of the “special sauce” leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
