Virgin Mobile Canada Announce BlackBerry Pearl 3G As "Coming Soon"

Another day and another BlackBerry Pearl 3G availability announcement. This time its dealing with the Pearl 3G 9100, which has the 20-key keyboard. As for the carrier, that will be Virgin Mobile in Canada.

Of course, this announcement comes with some good and some bad, or more accurately, some good and some missing. First things first — the pricing. That is simple, either $49.99 on a three year agreement or $349.99 month to month. Personally, $50 for a BlackBerry Pearl is pretty decent but then again, three years is a lifetime in mobile phone years. And now for the missing, as of now Virgin Mobile has not announced an exact release date. Instead they have opted for the generic listing of “coming soon.” Still, its nice to know that its coming.

For those that may have missed some of our previous BlackBerry Pearl 3G coverage. First, shame on you for not reading every single post, but just to offer a quick recap on those specs, you can expect to find;

Other details from the Virgin Mobile teaser page include that the Pearl 3G will not be available for those in Saskatchewan and Manitoba due to “network differences.” Otherwise, it looks like we are left waiting and hoping that the coming soon really is soon. And finally, there is always the option to fork over your email in exchange to be notified when it comes available.

Finally, this is more of a side thought, but it seems as if Virgin Mobile has undercut Rogers on this release as they are priced at either $79.99 on contract or $449.99 off contract.
