iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 Available To Download Now [iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 Offers (AT&T?) Internet Tethering, Revised Home Screen & Utilities Folder]
If you have an iPhone 3GS and you have a particular penchant for testing out new iPhone OS Betas (perhaps you already have iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 3 installed) you may be interested to know that iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 has just become available to download should you have access to an Apple iPhone Developer Program account.

The new iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 brings some interesting new updates such as a revised home screen, thanks to utility apps such as the calculator, clock, compass and voice memo now being grouped under an appropriately named ‘Utilities’ folder and a range of new wallpapers which, thanks to being somewhat more reserved, should appeal to those looking for backgrounds that are rather less distracting than those previously on offer.

You can also factor in the ability to view your Photo Roll in a differing orientation (assuming that you have Orientation Lock turned off, or course) whilst those who have tested the new iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 are reporting that their phones seem rather more responsive in terms of launching and using apps (we’d certainly like anyone running iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 to offer us some insight here – does your iPhone feel more responsive?).

Other notable changes include the ability to toggle off the option to send group messages as well as a new option in the settings menu allowing for Internet Tethering which offers a pretty strong hint that the rumoured AT&T tethering functionality is indeed set to be sorted at last regardless of repeated rumours to the contrary.
As mentioned above, if you’re running with iPhone OS 4.0 Beta 4 and you isolate any other notable changes do feel free to drop us some detail so we can tip readers here.
