Google Wave Now Open For The Public
Effective as of now, Google Wave is no longer an invitation only service. That means anyone who may be interested in signing up for Wave will simply need to visit wave.google.com and sign up. And the good news here is that Wave will be open for those with a regular consumer Google account as well as Google Apps account customers.

So, Google Wave is open for all. In fact, according to the information coming by way of the Official Google Wave Blog, it has been been added to Google Labs, where it will continue to live as further developments are made and new features are added. That alone is good news, because it suggests Google Wave is not coming to a halt. Even better news for some who like Wave but cannot find a good use just yet.
That last statement was more something that I am feeling, though its likely to believe I am not alone in that thought. And judging from the Wave Blog, it seems to support that theory. In fact they have gone as far as stating that;
“If you tried Google Wave out a while ago, and found it not quite ready for real use, now is a good time to come back for a second try. Wave is much faster and much more stable than when we began the preview, and we have worked hard to make Wave easier to use.”
Furthermore, there has been at least one valuable feature added — email notifications when a Wave has been changed or updated. You can also remove participants that may have been added by mistake, or just as likely, participants that no longer need access to that information. Additionally, there was also more permission management options and an extensions gallery added.
Finally, Google has also announced a few improvements to the Wave API’s which should further help bring Wave, or the potential of using Wave to more users. Like I said, I like the idea of Wave, but for me I just have not found the use. Of course, the email notifications for changes is a key addition for me as that was probably my biggest pet peeve about the service in the past.
Anyway, if you are interested in checking out Google Wave for yourself, you can rest assured in knowing that signing up is simple and easy and does not require begging for an invitation.
