Verizon Droid Incredible Living Up To Its Name, Remains Popular & Hard To Purchase [Verizon Wireless Pushes Droid Incredible Shipments To June 1]

The Droid Incredible originally went up for sale on April 29th and since then it has proven itself as a popular phone. Of course, with a name like the Incredible it has quite a bit that it needs to prove. Still, the initial release was quickly followed with reports of the Droid Incredible shipments being delayed and then being delayed again.

Well, fast forward until today and it now looks like placing an order for a Droid Incredible with Verizon Wireless will give you a ship date of around June 1st. Or more specifically, your Droid Incredible “will be shipped by 6/1.” Still, counting from today and that means you will be waiting about 20 days to get delivery.

Given the reviews that have surfaced and the listed specs which include an 8 megapixel camera, 1GHz Snapdragon processor and Android 2.1 with Sense UI this does not seem all that surprising. If nothing else, I guess if you have been toying with the idea of picking up an Incredible — now may be as good a time as any to place your order. After all, the wait time only seems to be increasing as the days go by.

One item that may be brought in here is the fact that Verizon cancelled their plans to offer the Nexus One. Personally I had been holding out for the Nexus on Verizon mainly for the vanilla version of Android, but now with that out of the window I have been looking towards the Incredible. And I would imagine that I am far from the only Verizon customer in that situation.

Either way though, it certainly seems as if the Incredible has been living up to its name. Or maybe its just living up to in the fact that it seems incredibly hard to purchase online. Anyway, as it was the Verizon Droid Incredible remains priced at $199.99 on a two-year agreement.
