Sprint Palm Pixi Now Free On-Contract

Sprint Realizes The Palm Pixi Was Expensive, Makes It Free With Two Year Agreement

Given the current pricing of the Palm Pixi Plus with Verizon Wireless, which happens to be free, this latest move by Sprint comes as little surprise. Of course, most would wonder what took them so long. In short, the Palm Pixi is now being offer by Sprint for free.

Well, more accurately, the Palm Pixi is free with a two year agreement. But those are so standard that it should almost go without saying at this point. The nice part here is that for anyone that wants to move to Sprint, or remain on Sprint can now do so with a decently price Pixi. Not to mention, this free price tag is just that, no messy mail in rebates to contend with. The disappointing part here is that the Sprint Pixi is not the Plus model which means it does not have Wi-Fi or the Mobile Hotspot app. Still, at least you are not spending more with Sprint (as compared with Verizon) to get less in terms of features.

Otherwise, in other Palm related handset pricing. After a brief stint at $29.99 the Pre Plus has jumped back to $49.99 with Verizon. And just to offer the needed comparison, Sprint is still selling the non-Plus Pre for a whopping $149.99. Maybe, just maybe, now that Sprint has lowered the Pixi to a reasonable price they can do the same for the Pre. Hey, we are not asking for free, but lets at least come close to the price that Verizon is showing. Sadly though, even if Sprint did lower the price of the Pre to better match the Verizon price, you are still getting less in terms of features. After all, the Verizon Pre Plus adds in goodies such as the Mobile Hotspot app and 16GB of internal storage which for those keeping track is double the 8GB that the Sprint Pre offers.
