Dell Latitude 2110 Netbook Updated [Dell Updates The Latitude 2110 Netbook, Adds Options For Mobile Broadband & Touchscreen Displays]
Another day and another netbook model is announced. Except this time the netbook has a few interesting twists. First and foremost, the model I am referring to is the Latitude 2110 from Dell. And moving on — the twist, this particular model is being targeted towards the business and education markets as opposed to a regular consumer. Still, the Latitude 2110 is offering some interesting features, and given that I would imagine at least a few non-business and non-education customers will see something of interest.

As for the Latitude 2110 design. It appears to have a kind of squared off and box like design, but according to the Direct2Dell Blog, the Latitude 2110 will have a “durable, easy to grip rubberized case.” I guess that is where the business and education markets come in to play. If nothing else, at least we can feel somewhat comfortable having this model survive being tossed in a backpack and lugged around campus.
Other features will include a 10 inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768, a 1.83GHz Intel Atom N470 processor and 1GB of RAM. Additionally, you can also choose from either Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n or 802.11 a/b/g as well as storage options ranging from a 16 or 64GB SSD to 160 or 250GB hard drive.
In terms of operating system, again more options, this time the options come in the form of either Windows XP, Windows Vista Home Basic, Windows 7 Starter or Ubuntu 9.10. Other details include that the Latitude 2110 will be available in black, red or blue.
And getting back to those other interesting features that I hinted at before. Those include options to have a Broadcom Crystal HD video accelerator, touchscreen display and built in mobile broadband.
Finally, the Latitude 2110 will be priced from $389 for the Linux model, $419 for Windows and a productivity package which adds on a larger hard drive, webcam and touchscreen display for $498.
