iPad Sales Spiked on eBay Ahead of International Launch
Whether you hate it or love it, the iPad, no matter what model, is selling like hot cakes. And it’s not only Apple that’s making lots of money off it. The iPad has been sold quite well on eBay where international customers were willing to pay a premium to get their hands on an iPad as fast as possible.

In the mean time Apple has announced international arrival dates and, for some markets, it has also specified pricing details. Sure the iPad is just a little more expensive in the European Union or the United Kingdom, but it’s still an affordable, even if still not a necessary, device to have around the house.
With international iPad launch dates and prices now official it’s very likely that eBay opportunists will not sell the tablet to international customers as good as they did in April.
According to reports, the most interested international iPad customers come from the United Arab Emirates, Greece, UK, Canada, Australia and Russia. In fact 65% of iPad sales on eBay went to international customers, which is really not surprising at all.
And, of course, those early U.S. iPad adopters willing to sell their iPads on eBay made quite a lot of cash of it. It looks like clients from the Arab countries were the more generous as they were willing to pay as much as $537 over the regular price but they also preferred the 64GB iPads. Greeks were willing to pay up to $269 over the regular price for the iPads and their willingness to spend that much money is likely the reason for the crisis in their country.
While these numbers are impressive, we will still have to remember that the majority of iPads that were sold in the USA stayed there. On comparison, the country that got the most iPads on eBay is the UK with 550 purchased units. Not as many as you’d originally think!
