Warner Brothers Lets You Trade DVDs For Blu-Rays
If you’ve recently converted your home theater gear to Blu-Ray and standard DVDs are looking kind of shabby, then maybe you could take advantage of Warner Brothers newest little storefront. For $5 (or more), they’re letting you trade in your SD DVD for a Blu-Ray movie.

The website www.dvd2blu.com is your portal to getting your cheap Blu-Ray movies. Unfortunately, it doesn’t have every Warner movie, but it’s not all crap titles, anyway, as there are a few geniune keepers in there. Although, the fact that it’s not all-inclusive will probably offend a few people. From their FAQ, it unfortunately says, “The DVD2Blu promotion is limited to the titles shown on DVD2Blu.com. We do not currently have any plans to modify the list of eligible titles.”
Most titles are $4.95, although some (the more popular and newer ones, it seems) are $6.95. They’ll send you a prepaid package, like Netflix, to send it back and once they’ve received it back, they’ll send you a brand new retail Blu-Ray movie. Probably the cheapest way to get a Blu-Ray movie these days.
They say that they only want the old DVD disc, no packaging or artwork, which leads me to believe that Warner will give these discs to Netflix. We’ve known for a while that Netflix has special deals with the movie studios to get low-cost DVDs, and we have a hunch that’s where these will all end up.
