Meizu M9, Not an iPhone 4 Clone but an Android Smartphone [Meizu M9 Impresses with New Specs & Features: 1GHz Samsung Processor, 5-Megapixel Camera, 3.6-inch Touchscreen & Android 2.1]
Remember that Meizu M8 smartphone? The one that wanted to be an iPhone but really wasn’t? Well it looks like the company has decided to take it to the next level and now we have a Meizu M9 to talk about. Only this time around we’re not really looking at an iPhone 4 clone, but at an Android 2.1 phone that could turn out to be quite hot.

The device is set to arrive in China at some point later this year and we have some specs and features for you which are ready to impress us. If everything does turn out to be true then we might just be looking at one of the best Android devices to be launched this year in Asia.
But here’s what we know about the M9 (not as fun to pronounce, is it?):
- Dimensions: 59.5 mm x 113 mm x 11mm
- Networks: WCDMA, CDMA, TD-SCDMA
- 3.6 “ touchscreen at 720 × 480 resolution
- 1 GHz Samsung S5PC110 processor
- 512 MB ROM / 512 MB RAM
- Android OS 2.1
- 5MP camera
- Bluetooth / WiFi / GPS / TV-out (HDMI 1.3)
- Micro SD / TF
- 1350 mAh battery
Yes, that’s right, with features like a 3.6-inch touchscreen display with 720 x 480 resolution, 1GHz processor made by Samsung, a 5-megapixel camera, probably with flash and video recording and Android 2.1 running the whole show, the M9 will be quite a dependable Android device.
The phone, even if it does slightly resemble with the iPhone, but then again most touchscreen handsets will, is going to be available at some point this August. As for prices you can expect it to cost €255 or approximately $324, without headphones and €290, or about $369 with headphones and 8GB storage on board.
Anyone interested in importing a Meizu M9 from China? And while we’re at it, has anyone of our readers purchased the M8 model?
