Google I/O Starting on May 19; YouTube to Stream it Live

Google Schedules Google I/O Event for May 19-20 & YouTube Is Said to Offer Live Keynotes Streaming

Google’s I/O event is approaching fast, and by fast I mean next week, of course. Google I/O will take place on May 19-20 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco and Google already announces is to be a major success. No less than 4,000 developers have registered for attending I/O and in case you just found about it you’ll have to know that there are no spots available anymore.

We’re definitely interested to see what Google will announce next Wednesday and Thursday and we’ll be following the keynotes closely thanks to YouTube. That’s right, YouTube will stream both presentations live so we will be there virtually for you, folks, waiting to break the most important stories of the day.

In case you do want to follow the main keynotes yourself, here’s the official schedule for them:

  • Day 1 Keynote: Wednesday, May 19, 9:00 -10:30am PT
  • Day 2 Keynote: Thursday, May 20, 8:30-10:00am PT

Google already warns us that “both keynote sessions feature exciting new technologies” so we’ll be really anxious to see what Google has up its sleeve this time. We’re certainly counting on Froyo aka Android 2.2 to be introduced and we’re definitely expecting to hear some Flash for Android announcement. Although Froyo is already said to bring native Flash integration, so if Android 2.2 gets unveiled next week, Flash should come with it too.

What’s not going to be really streamed are the actual sessions developers get to attend which also happen to sound pretty interesting but then again we’re more interested in what Google is preparing for the near future for now and we’ll be looking for developers’ comments and opinions thereafter.

Following Google I/O, in just over two weeks we’re going to have Apple’s WWDC 2010 kick off. The major event of that conference will be the unveiling of the iPhone 4, one more reason for Google to make a spectacular impression with these “exciting new technologies.”
