Waze App Comes To The Blackberry
August last year we reviewed the free, real-time traffic app Waze, which was only available on the iPhone at the time. Today, Waze Beta is now available for download on the BlackBerry.

Waze is a crowd-sourced traffic application where it compiles its traffic maps from information submitted by users. It’s not just about reporting traffic jams, but users can also note speed cameras, police traps and construction sites.
Waze is currently available on iPhone, Android, Windows Mobile and Symbian platforms. Today it was pleased to announce that it’s available to download on the BlackBerry. Like the others, Waze BlackBerry Beta will be free.
Waze BlackBerry Beta is still in its early phase and does have a few bugs and glitches. However, it has already gained positive reviews from the BlackBerry users and the team at Waze is working around the clock to fix these problems.
Between 4 to 14 May, Waze is running a contest to get more users constantly using the Beta app. The person who “eats up” the most “road goodies” There’s one competition open to residents in the U.S./Canada and one for the rest of the world.
Waze Beta is only works in some countries that have a full base map, while others will require the user to record roads and to create maps. Currently full base maps are available for the U.S., Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Israel, Ecuador and Panama. The company is looking to expand base maps across Europe and elsewhere.
If you have tried Waze Beta on your Blackberry, let us know your thoughts. Did you find it helpful? Would you continue to use it on a regular basis?
